Healthcare: Crackled and Bloody Nuts: Part II (11/06/2025)

When it comes to healthcare, I cannot catch any breaks with good news. If you read part 1 then you know the journey I have endured with the broken healthcare industry. Today, the journey continues with more fun roadblocks.

October 8th was the day that I finally saw a Urologist and I explained all I could remember and brought plenty of documentation with me. We went back to the first diagnosis of Acute Prostatitis. The Urologist said all the information points to this, and the 2 weeks of Cipro in May was not enough time for the anti-biotic to work. I went back on Cipro for 30 days as the Urologist said it should be gone by then but would add a refill in case the symptoms are "almost gone."

On day 21 of Cipro, I started to experience side effects that seemed like something I have experienced in the past, inflammation. I loaded up 800 mg of Advil 3 times per day for the next week and found the basic inflammation pain subsided while my main symptoms persisted. I also was being a bit too physical for a few days but must get shit done.

I called the office and found the doc is on vacation until Dec 5th. I asked to see if any of the covering doctors would see me or provide any assistance. My primary doctor went on vacation soon after being seen with him as well in August. I keep catching doctors on vacation. Turns out, the covering doctor wants me to wait until his return to the office. What a pussy.

The only options are to wait until my December appointment or head to the E.R., which is something I really don’t want to do. My mom on the other hand keeps on telling me to go.

I have read some stories where some people took Cipro for longer than 30 days and up to 60 days. I am currently on day 29 and do not feel any difference and do not want another 31 days of this medication.

So, here we are in November and will reach out to my doctor’s office one last time before I try to convince an E.R. doctor to order a CT scan, which is the next steps in the plan.

Bloody nuts everywhere

The crackling continues and more roadblocks…

EDIT: 11/15/2026: I finally have the next steps in place but still have to battle time. Cystoscopy and CT scan are scheduled.
