Windows 10 End of Life Fear: Part III (11/05/2025)
I broke away from writing about computers and code and dipped into sports, healthcare and music. I now find myself back to computers with my third part in the Windows 10 End of Life fear.
I remember several months ago there was a frenzy about Windows 10 support ending in October. The rush of questions began, and some moved to Windows 11 to be rid of the Windows 10 issues. Lots of money was spent to get these devices into production.
Then the day arrived. October 14th and it went without issues on my end. I first reported after reading many Microsoft articles that there would be a cost of either money or Microsoft points. I was ready with the points for my devices as I have plenty available.
I put my 2 of my devices and 2 of my kid's devices on the extended support prior to the date. I then fired up an older machine and was able to add it to the support program after October 14th by a few days.
Fast forward to yesterday (11/4/2025) where I updated my Mother-in-law's workstation. It was having wireless issues which I fixed and applied the latest update. The Enroll Now link appeared and I added the device to extended support almost a month past the end date.
If I have learned anything about Microsoft, is don't sweat at first when it comes to hardware and software upgrades. Take a moment to see what is going on. I know there are companies still running Windows 98, XP and 7 in production environments. Microsoft gets heat from not being secure. My assumption is that if you have a Windows 10 machine and it is working, you will be able to get the extended support if you have the proper build.
Keep on updating and eventually you will get the Enroll Now update. I have a feeling there will be an open window for a few months.

What is your Windows 10 ESU success rate?
